I needed solid cooking skills fast!
I signed up myself for a Chef certification and a culinary nutrition program. I started implementing the techniques to the food my family could have and then I was well on my way to cook delicious healthy meals from scratch without a recipe!
As a Chef, the food I was making was tasting very close to the food they were used to and everyone at the table seemed pretty satisfied finally!
But how was I able to cook from scratch without a recipe with tons of substitutions and know for sure it was going to turn out delicious?
As all Chefs do, I wasn’t relying on recipes, I had cooking skills under my belt and that’s what I want to share with you!
After 10 years using these skills, I made a serious PLANT-BASED jump after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021.
Cooking healthy had a positive impact on my overall health, I lost 35lbs, my energy is better now then it was 15 years ago and I feel like I can take on the world!
What I did not know at the time of teaching cooking classes to my son at primary school…
My son was 5 years old back then and he really liked eating and cooking, specially when I was the teacher! He continue cooking with me daily and learn the skills.
Little I knew he would be the one cooking for me on my healing journey! Everyday that I did not feel strong enough to cook, he was spoiling with meals cooked to perfection without a recipe!
As a mom, I can’t tell you enough how impress and proud I felt when he came to me with a special plant-based meal cooked just for me with a big smile of accomplishment… my heart filled with warmth, what a nice pay off!
My story would probably be very different if I did not share my cooking skills with him, that is why I want to share it with you too…
